In an effort to uphold our corporate philosophy, RYTHM (Raise Yourself To Help Mankind), QI Malaysia staff recently visited Rumah Amal Cheshire Selangor (RACS) in a Staff Social Responsibility (SSR) activity to clean up the home, give the walls a new coat of paint and spend some quality time with the elderly who now call RACS their home.

During the event, volunteers were divided into 2 groups. The first group of 10 volunteers helped to move books and magazine from a staff office to a library in the home. Another group helped out with various tasks including sweeping the garden, home compound and clearing dried leaves and rubbish from clogging the drains. After the cleaning activity, volunteers also helped paint the home’s thrift shop.

Volunteers later gathered the home’s hall to serve and have lunch with the home residents. RACS Operation Manager, Mr. Farhan made the afternoon a memorable one as he serenaded the volunteers and residents with several songs on his saxophone. The activity ended with RACS President, Datin Paduka Khatiijah Suleiman, thanking QI Malaysia and the volunteers in a speech.

A volunteer, Suriana Wahab said the activity was very meaningful. “I hope there are more SSR activities that reach out to the underprivileged in our community.” Meanwhile, the RACS operation manager Mr Farhan said it was a blessing to have QI staff come over and make the home a better place. “The efforts put in by each and every volunteer is very meaningful and I would like to say thank you to QI Malaysia.”
