To usher in Hari Raya (Eid) this year, 72 staff from QI Group’s offices in Malaysia participated in a meaningful event, bringing over 70 children from two orphanages for Hari Raya shopping.

The volunteers gathered at MYDIN Subang, one of Malaysia’s largest hypermarkets, together with children from Rumah Anak-anak Yatim and Asnaf As-Solihin, aged from 5-17 years.

Each staff was tasked with taking care of one child and provide assistance when shopping for Raya outfits. The children were excited and enjoyed the shopping experience, as volunteers made sure they got what they wished for, in the right size and preferred colour.

In previous years, the children would usually wear pre-loved clothes donated by the public to celebrate Hari Raya in the Orphanages. However this year, they had the joy of selecting their outfits of choice. They chose a variety of new traditional Raya outfits such as baju Melayu, baju kurung, jubah and accessories including shoes and handbags!

Nadiah, one of the volunteers, said “It was an eye-opening experience for me. Seeing the children’s faces light up when choosing their Raya outfits, with such excitement and gratitude, truly symbolizes what the Raya spirit is all about”.
