In line with the QI Group’s corporate vision to go green and become an environmentally conscious organisation, Vijayaratnam Foundation, as the Malaysian CSR arm of the Group, embarked on this unique programme, in collaboration with PPD Daerah Petaling Utama & Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya.

The programme, which is the brainchild of the Mayor of Petaling Jaya, involves selected Primary One students from 45 participating schools in the district of Petaling Jaya; each student is encouraged to plant a tree in the vicinity of their respective schools and carry out the duties of maintaining and caring for the plant throughout their tenure at the school.

VF, which facilitates the tree planting activities in each school, has pledged to donate a total of 6,000 trees during the course of the project. All trees are sponsored by QNet Malaysia, a subsidiary of the QI Group.

The programme was launched on 24 April 2010, at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Petaling.
