Kickstarted on 24 October 2009, FOOTPRINTS is a six-month mentoring programme that seeks to match less fortunate children with caring adults for the purpose of grooming them to excel in life. The friendship between the mentor and child provides the child with a new chance to develop confidence and learn about the world around them. Research shows that kids who have a mentor will show improvement in school performance, will have better social skills, and will be resilient to drug and alcohol abuse. The mentors are people who have the passion and energy to work with attention-craving less fortunate children, and who can be committed for a period of 6 months. All mentors have been carefully selected after an interview.
