Members of the media are welcome to use the below profile of Vijayaratnam Foundation for publication purposes.

Vijayaratnam Foundation was established in April 2006 by Dato’ Sri Vijay Eswaran, Executive Chairman of the QI Group, as the Malaysian Chapter of RYTHM Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the QI Group of Companies. The Foundation is a tribute to his father Mr. S Vijayaratnam, and continues the legacy of his philanthropic activities started over 60 years ago.

The Foundation focuses on three main areas – children with special needs, community development and community wellbeing. It facilitates the inception and implementation of various initiatives and projects through its work with the public and private sectors, civil society, and the philanthropic community. The Foundation has also set up Taarana, a centre for children with special educational needs in Malaysia. Other flagship projects include Footprints, a mentoring programme for children in orphanages who are paired up with employees of the QI Group; and Maharani, a series of educational camps for adolescent girls.
