This year, QI Malaysia staff marked World Refugee Day with a fun-filled trip to the National Zoo together with a group of 40 refugee children.
The outing began with a ride on a chartered bus for the children, who were accompanied by their chaperon, Mr. Elliot Tan. He noted that the children were brimming with excitement, as they looked forward to a day of exciting adventures.
Upon arrival, a briefing was conducted by the Staff Social Responsibility (SSR) committee, followed by an informal meet-and-greet session between the 42 QI volunteers and the children. Volunteers and children were then paired up before setting off to explore the zoo in groups.
In addition, the volunteers also contributed a cash donation along with gifts of T-shirts and a lunch treat for the children.
Ms. Boey Kho, QI Group Director of HR and Administration, noted that this was indeed a meaningful activity, as it was a day of fun and learning for both the children and staff.
