Vijayaratnam Foundation has been given the honour of being a premium partner for the National Youth Indian Convention (NYIC) 2010, the announcement for which was made during a press conference at the Grand Dorsett, Subang Jaya on 1 June 2010. The other two premium partners for this event are Eversendai Corporation Sdn Bhd and Masterskill University College of Health Sciences.
The press conference was chaired by Dr. Ganesan Vadalamalai, the president of the Malaysian Indian Educational Development (MIND) Association. Also present during the press conference were Dr. Siva Balasundram, Chairman of NIYC 2010; Dato' AK Nathan, Group Managing Director and Chairman, Eversendai Corporation; Ms Sujitra Jayaseelan, Head of Vijayaratnam Foundation; and a representative from Masterskill University College of Health Sciences, on behalf of Dato’ Sri Edmund Santhara.
The NYIC 2010 is organised by the MIND association, a non-profit organization, with its theme for the year of 2010 being ‘Pursuing Excellence’. This event aims to provide an interactive platform for Indian youths to pursue excellence by interacting with successful individuals who have created a niche for themselves in their respective field of expertise.
“The real development comes from within but every one of us needs a little push to go farther. Therefore, the convention will be a platform for the youth to develop themselves,” said Dato’ AK Nathan during the press conference.
The NYIC convention will take place at The Grand Dorsett on 3 July 2010 with six extraordinary speakers on board, including Dato’ Vijay Eswaran , Executive Chairman of the QI Group of Companies. The other speakers boast an impressive lineup of wide-ranging specialists in their own rights, including Tan Sri G. Gnanalingam, Executive Chairman of Westport Malaysia; Dato’Sri Edmund Santhara, Group Chief Executive Officer ofMasterskill Education Group Berhad; Professor Shamala Devi Sekaran, from the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya; Dato' AK Nathan, Group Managing Director and Chairman of Eversendai Corporation; and Dato' Ambiga Sreenevasan, Immediate Past President of the Bar Council Malaysia.
